Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus delivered a powerful keynote speech on Thursday at the BIMSTEC Young Gen Forum in Bangkok, urging young people to embrace entrepreneurship rather than seek traditional employment.

“You teach young people to become entrepreneurs, not to become job seekers. Today’s young generation is very different—you forget about the previous generation,” the 2006 Noble Peace Laureate said.

State-run channel BTV broadcast his speech live, which the One-man Newsroom monitored. He mentioned that if you give them the freedom to express themselves, they will be full of ideas.

Prof. Yunus said, “I keep mentioning to the young generation that you are the most powerful generation in human history, and you are taking this most powerful generation.”

He also emphasized that young people should focus on creating businesses aligned with the “three-zero” concept—zero carbon emissions, zero waste, and zero wealth concentration.

Bangladesh’s state-run news agency, BSS, published a report on the event titled “CA urges youths to build themselves as three-zero persons.”

“If we want to provide service, we will have to go to a new civilization of three zeros,” he said, stressing the urgency of the matter. A shift in mindset is necessary to build a sustainable future,” Prof. Yunus said. (BSS, April 3, 2025)
